Christmas Decoration @ Kemaman Life BP Church

In my short trip back to Paka, I helped to decorate our Kemaman church along with my mom and a few other young adults. We tried to keep it simple and sweet with white and silver decorations.

Zee Avi

This 23 year old Malaysian Singer is my latest inspiration. Her music not only helps me to relax, it helps me to get into my artsy-fartsy mood. ;) Her lyrics are just so special, it's not that straightforward but it's still easy to understand it. Really <3 her songs! and and and I think she's really pretty  too ^_^

P/S: my favourite song so far is The Book of Morris Johnson <3

French Baguette with Garlic Spread

I made Garlic bread with chicken soup for lunch!

I prefer fresh garlic spreads rather than store-bought ones.. here are the steps to make your own! ^_^

Things you need:
4-5 cloves of Garlic
5 slices of french baguette (ratio of baguette and garlic is about 1:1 depending on your preference and size of garlic)
2 teaspoons butter (about 15g)

Steps:
1. Chop up your garlic into as small as it can be.
2. Pour butter and chopped garlic into a small bowl.
3. Mash garlic and butter into a spread for about 1 minute.
4. Spread the garlic spread onto a side your baguette slices and lay them garlic-side-up onto a non-stick frying pan.
5. Toast them for about 5 minutes in low-medium heat or until the bread is crispy. (I like mine to be a little softer than croutons)
6. Serve them with cream of chicken/mushroom soup or just eat them alone as snacks.

My thesis journey

Every time I start thinking about "you", I get overwhelmed by stress and run away again...
It's like standing at the top edge of a 100 flight of stairs and looking down,
I think about the possibility of me rolling down and falling the moment I take my first step,
So I backed away again.

I know I'm temporarily  just running away from my problem but it's not gonna make the stress go away.
Therefore I've decided to take things one step at a time,
and knowing that at times when I don't have any control over the things I want or don't want to happen, I'll leave everything to God.

~Writing about it is easy but I have to convince myself to take that first move. ~
All I need to do is to run with all my strength and might for the next 12 days....

INDIVIDIUM.com

I visited Art for Grabs and Individium was there so I checked out their products and decided to get 3 postcards - AF (artsy fartsy) & PS (paiseh) for me, CM (cookie monster) for Cynthia~

Clearly I wasn't gonna use them as postcards but I didn't wanna keep it in a box where it would be ages till it sees the light of day. Therefore, I stuck them onto my door... where I'm able to let others know whether I'm in my Artsy-Fartsy mood or Paiseh mood.. haha =P

I use the bottom half part of an envelope and cut out one of the sides to make a holder.. =)

Check out their website. They also sell buttons, bags and t-shirts.

Re-organizing my art supplies and tools

This happened last month after I came back from an Art for Grabs at The Annexe Gallery.. My art supplies and tools were all in a mess after Bohemian Cafe, so I decided to re-organize them =)

my tools- not too messy

Seriously speaking, it frustrates me that embellishments are difficult to organize into the same box sometimes.. my tool box actually has quite a number of sequins and beads/button collections due to its larger storage boxes..  >.<

Loving the new way of organizing my ribbons! ;D
Next project is to work on my ribbon rolls.

The Tea Republic @ BSC

I had my last paper for the semester finals today so i'm free, Free, FRee, FREe, FREE as a bird!!!! (besides rushing for my dreadful thesis =/)

Valerie asked me to have lunch together coz we don't know when will it be the next time we'll have a meal together again since she's gonna start her extended semester in Nov and mine in Sep. We initially wanted to go to Poco Homemade after our exams at 10am but I suddenly recalled that they only open at 12pm.. Therefore we resorted to go to BSC to check out Oga's recommendation of a DELICIOUS and CHEAP place called "Monte"..... or was is "Monte's"? Anyway, it took us quite a few rounds searching the whole mall to finally bump into the corner wine and bar restaurant, turns out it wasn't as "cheap" as we expected it to be...

Being kinda disappointed (with growling stomachs) we decided to just stick to any cafes or restaurants in the mall just to fill our stomachs.. then when we were about to give up and leave for Poco Homemade, Val saw a poster about a tea shop called "The Tea Republic". My first impression was they either only sell desserts and teas or worse, maybe only packaged teas. Being the tea lovers we are, we decided to give it a shot... gotta find out what it was!

Search search search........ we saw the little shop at the end of the mall at a secluded corner.. we immediately fell in love with the interior.. So we went in to check out and saw that their meals are priced at about RM10 ++, we immediately took our seats!

First look at the menu, we were like "err...lapsang tea?" What interesting names they have for their tea! I spotted my all time favorite Earl Grey Tea and wanted to order them when Val pointed out that it was priced at RM17.90... a freaking RM17.90! I turned the pages to find for other alternatives and saw that they have Cinnamon Milk Tea for RM8.90, okay, since I like cinnamon and black tea.. RM8.90 is more affordable for me.

Therefore, Cinnamon Milk Black Tea it is for me, with my Cottage Pie + Salad.
Valerie on the other hand had her Green Tea and Indian Chicken + saffron rice.

After our meals, we talked and were so high and crazy over their decoration and utensils.. i know, we can be pretty embarrassing at times >.< Experimented a lot with Val's new camera and explored the merchandises at the store. They sell Stick Teas and tea bags in pairs, magnets about tea, recycled bags etc.

Suddenly, we lifted our heads and saw "Homemade Ice-cream".. it was like a blinking billboard shouting our names and we were mesmerize @.@ when we woke up, both of us each had a flavor- GreenTea and Teh Tarik, in front of us and spooning away.. (by "spooning" i mean the transitive verb to eat, scoop, or carry something with a spoon or with the action of somebody using a spoon)

Our verdict: super delicious ice-cream that you won't be left feeling unhealthy after eating the whole cup. ^_^ However, there were some grainy particles throughout the whole cup which we think is blended tea leaves, might leave you choking on it so do get ready some water to smooth-en your throat ;)

Definitely a must-try destination! Gonna bring my family there one day ^_^
